Apologies for being late with the pfblogsround, my excuse is that I was attending a free classical music concert last night - not a great excuse, but not a bad one either.

• my 401(k) is better than yours @ blueprint for financial prosperity its always interesting to see what other people get for their labour at work, for people in the UK, a 401(k) is like a money purchase pension
• do personal finance bloggers have a bias against real estate @ free money finance I think that they do but that its justified as most non-pf blog readers are biased for real estate
• getting rich the easy way @ the digerati life silicon valley blogger has highlighted a very interesting ethical issue
• right turns and helping the environment @ the tao of making money note that (as stated by golbguru) if you are with me in the UK, you want to be making left turns
• how to get financial peace of mind @ zen habits making my bills automatic with direct debit has made my life immeasurably easier

• save money with your feet @ get rich slowly. One of jd's readers sent in a tip to cut back on transport costs and put the money you don't spend into savings
• one idea that could save you millions @ freemoneyfinance. Simple, move to a cheaper area. Seriously consider getting out of the metropolis and into an area with cheaper housing.
• killing your credit with a subprime loan @ the digerati life. Silicon Valley Blogger's take on the US subprime mortgage crisis
• money discussion still uncomfortable @ make love not debt. Him and Her exemplify good relationship finance, but they're still not perfect. Are kitchen graters a joint or individual purchase?
• three reasons I will never be rich @ lazy man and money. lazy man shares his (minor) shortcomings with the world. I think he'll make it to true wealth despite these

I apologise for the slim pickings. Its not because there haven't been any great posts this week, but because I've been away on holiday and haven't had a chance to do as much reading. Anyway, this week the posts I've liked on other personal finance blogs have been:

• don't budget to the penny @ blueprint for financial prosperity. I don't budget to the penny either, I round up to the whole pound. It means I'm never under and I really can't be bothered to get into any more detail than that.
• sign up for free customer rewards @ the simple dollar. This is just a great tip from trent's five minute finance series.

• cost of buying a house over 30 years @ consumerism commentary flexo's take on a Wall Street Journal article on how taking into account the true cost of buying and selling a house mean that its not the great investment it is portrayed as. Note that in the UK, house price inflation over the last 30 years has been about 2.5% greater than RPI, so an overall house value inflation of 5.66% would be about right over here too

Here's a roundup of some of my favourite posts this week in other personal finance blogs

• How community and home effect our wealth @ get rich slowly. It does exactly what it says on the tin. I couldn't agree more with the conclusions of this post.
• If you buy when the market is down, when do you sell @ the simple dollar. With the fall in the market prompting mild panic amongst financial journalists and the pfbloggers planning on buying stock at the now discount prices, trent looks at when you should sell and I'm with him on this one.
• Check out the latest Dave Ramsey poll @ all financial matters. jlp runs the numbers on whether its better to pay your mortgage off early or invest extra in the stock market. Its pretty clear to me that I'll be investing extra in the stock market before I pay off my mortgage early.
• Move to another country to save money @ boston gal's open wallet. This is all about Brits moving to France and Spain because its cheaper than living in the South East. I think I need to learn more languages before this starts to seem like a good idea.
• Why I disagree with Dave Ramsey @ gaming the credit system. This is actually about whether advice to never use credit cards is applicable to everyone and do we all really spend more money if we use a card than if we used cash. Personally, I struggle to keep cash in my pocket but am almost allergic to spending foolishly with my card.
